Happy New year

Hello all!! Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful new year. One of my best friends had a new years party at her house, so we spent the evening there throwing back glasses of champagne and eating way to much food. All in all it was a nice end to 2008.

I have been playing some serious catch up the past couple weeks. My feather headband line " Poodlies" is kicking butt. So between making those and sewing I have my hands full. I am having my first photo shoot for the new year this Friday. I have lots of vintage reconstructed goodies that i have been collecting for you all :) I should have everything on the site no later than Tuesday evening.

That is one of my 10000 new years resolutions. To post at least 2 new items a night. ;) lol ... ohhh I totally forgot to update you on the fashion show. It went GREAT!!! My models were so fun and the dresses looked FABULOUS ( duh) .. I sold lots of dresses, but have a few left over. You can find them on my site under the " new years dress section" I have had a few people ask me about the music that was in the show. I used a variety of different artist. here is the line up:

Opening= Santo gold- Shove it
Shiny toy guns= Le disco
Gorillas=Dare
Yelle= je vueux te voir
Goldflapp= sex ?

Here are some of my new years shots as well as pictures from my fashion show. Also, check out this great article that was written on me :) Happy new year!!!

I <3 NYC

I have been away on a vacation/ business trip. I saw an old friend from high school. We partied way to much and misbehaved. I love the city. There is something about the hustle and bustle that always brings me peace. I could move their in a second. Maybe I will. Who knows. Now the most important part of the trip was THRIFTING!

We went to several places. Some where outrageously overpriced, but others were ok. I didn't get as much merchandise as I would have liked b\c the prices were not conducive to flipping, but I did find some great items and some good names for you. I recommend :

Opera Thrift ( All proceeds go to supporting the NYC Opera , which I think it fantastic)
New york Vintage( The best vintage botique in the city for vintage designer, but it is $$$$$$$)
Tokio 7

I went to a couple other places, but I cant give my sources away ;) Here are a couple pictures from my vacay!

Here we go

]

aaand we are off! I say there is no better way to start, than from the beginning. My name is Ashley and I am a vintage clothes junkie. I have been a collector since I was 16 and recently just launched my very own Vintage boutique. http://fabulousfashionfinds.etsy.com/

I just graduated from FSU. GO NOLES! ok, sorry about that. Anyways,I have a background in sewing as well as photography, so slowly but surely everything is falling into place. I was a Marketing major and some how I fell into the fashion industry?

I spend my days looking through racks, fixing garments, washing garments and then posting the finished product for the world to see. I know a lot of girls fear vintage b\c they think it smells or is "gross." Well, personally I think that is silly. Like every great history lesson, history always repeats it self and fashion is no different. So, my philosophy is, why not wear one of a kind amazing pieces that no one else will have and not only be original, but also recycle what we already have in an effort to help this beautiful planet we live on. So be sure to check out my store and tell me what you think! Talk to guys soon. xo

Here are a few of my fabulous finds
